Industries:
  Distt.is having one Industrial Training Institute at Ashajipora, one cement factory viz Elahi Cement Industries at Anchidora having capacity of 50 tonnes per day. There are 164 SSI units engaged in manufacturing of sports goods District Anantnag is famous for manufacturing of unique handicraft products like Gabba Making, Carpet weaving, wood carving , chain stich and Crewelembriodry works. Besides one Agriculture Research unit at Khudwani is functioning under the control SKUAST.

Fisheries:
 The district has the distinction of having the giant trout fish farming project at Kokernag established with the assistance of European Economic Community (EEC)The project is spread over on an area of more than 8.5 hectares. Fish farmers development International Limited Scot land has been appointed as Project Consultant by EEC. The Project has hatching unit, rearing and feed production unit. Besides, the district has Achabal Trout Hatchery spread over 1.5 hectares and the source of water to the hatchery is Achabal Spring and rearing units at villages Dandipora, Panzath, Chawalgam, Akad Tricker and Pahalgam. Rural Dev.Deptt. :
  Under JGSY programme 616 works are to be completed against an estimated cost of Rs.280.00 lacs during current financial year. Under drought 447 works are to be executed against an estimated cost of Rs.270.00 lacs. Similarly under 10th Finance Commission 44 Panchayat Ghars are under execution against an estimated cost of Rs.184.00 lacs. Besides 7 Patwar Khana's, one record room and one computer room are expected to be completed against an estimated cost of Rs.28.67 lacs during current year.

  Pahalgam, Kokernag, Verinag, Achabal, Ahrebal, Duksum, Guriwatan, Kongwatan, Vasaknag, Kounsarnag. Besides district is famous for Shri Amar Nathi Ji holy Cave.
