In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to the section 124 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, the Governor is pleased to make the following amendments in the Jammu and Kashmir (Compassionate Appointments) Rules, 1994, namely:-

• I)
  • i. In clause (ii) of rule 2 after the words " as a result of militancy related action" the words " or due to enemy action on the Line of Actual Control/International Border within the state of Jammu and Kashmir" shall be added.
  • ii. In clause (iii) of rule 2, after the words" as a result of militancy related action" the words " or due to enemy action on the Line of Actual Control/International Border, within the State of Jammu and Kashmir " shall be added.
  • iii. In clause (iv) of rule 2 at the end of the said clause before the full stop the words" International Border" shall be added.

• II) The word " wholly" occurring in the definition of family member incorporated in part (d) of explanation below rule 2 of the said rules shall be deleted and shall be deemed to have always been deleted.
• III) The word " General Administration Department" occurring in Sub-Rule (1) of rule 5 of the rules shall be replaced by the words" Deputy Commissioner Concerned". Further-more, second sentence in sub rule (2) of rule 5 of the rules will be recast as under:-

" Deputy Commissioner after making such enquiries as may be necessary and on recommendations of the District Level Coordination-cum-Screening Committee, may issue appointment orders for his or her adjustment against a vacancy in the District concerned in any Department under the Government in accordance with the Provisions of rule 3 hereinabove.
