SRO 43 : Compassionate Appointment

  In the years of the turmoil from 1989 till date in the State generally and Valley particularly deaths due to militancy related incidents took enormous proportions and Government took a very timely decision and action by issuing an SRO 283 in the year 1991 and amended the same as SRO 43 in the year 1994 which provides for employment to one of members of the family of a person killed in militancy related incidents provided that the killed person was neither himself a militant nor was/is found to be involved in subversive activities.

  This SRO deals with deaths in harness as well. If any Government employee dies in harness one of his/her family members who is otherwise eligible for the employment is provided with employment under this SRO

Eligibility

Any person who happens to be an NOK of the deceased who dies in subversive/militancy related incidents can apply for issuance of the certificate under SRO 43. Provided he/she fulfills the other conditions like age/qualification/PRC etc.

  Issuing Authority : Any Revenue Officer not below the rank of an Assistant Commissioner.

  Application On the prescribed Performa

  Enclosures

• Application form with Affidavit.
• Death Certificate/Dependent Certificate
• A letter from the Department where the Govt. employee was working till death. ( Death in Harness)
• Verifying agency shall have to ascertain the facts regarding dependence of the person to be appointed on deceased.
• Income of the family Verification of character certificate
• Certificate to effect that ex-gratia has been sanctioned and actually disbursed to the NOK's in order to ascertain the non-involvement of the subject with any subversive activity.- Copy of the sanction order.
