employees absent from duty:
On
the instructions of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr.
Asgar Hassan Samoon, the inspection team headed by
Additional Commissioner, Kashmir Abdul Majid Wani checked
attendance of various offices in district Pulwama, Kulgam,
Shopian and Anantnag and found 69 employees including 7
doctors absent from duty and action under rules has been
initiated against them.
The
offices inspected include

Asgar Samoon alongwith GOC Kiloforce Ravi Jojeo and other
senior officers
today held an awami darbar at AG Swai goodwill school,
auditorium. The
Divisional Commissioner got feedback from the public
representatives from
Lolab, Sogam and Chandigam areas about their day to day
problems including
facilities of potable drinking water, electricity, road
network, damaged
bridges, culverts, school buildings and roads due to recent
floods,
transport, vacant post in many departments, under
construction works and
other schemes under rural development.
Addressing the participants, the Divisional Commissioner
said
that recruitment rally in Army, BSF, CRPF and other forces
will take place
soon for minimising the unemployment problem in the district
so that low
literates will get an opportunity of employment. He assured
the people that
Divisional Administration could leave no stone unturned to
mitigate their
problems and assured the people that we are always at your
disposal. He
stressed upon the district officers to come forward in
solving day today
problems and said the main aim and objective of holding of
such awami
darbars for redressing the grievances of the people on the
spot and speedy
disposal of their long pending cases.
Commending the role of Numberdars and
Chowkidars, he asked them
to share their responsibilities for holding the coming
Panchayat elections
peacefully and also directed them to inform the government
and divisional
administration about the problems of the common people.
He said that to add beauty to district Kupwara, Lolab
valley
will be developed soon as a tourist spot for which the
government has
already established Development Authority Lolab. He issued
directions for
completing under construction PHE scheme in Takipora, Sogam
within
stipulated time.
Referring to the developmental activities in the
district, the
Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara informed the Divisional
Commissioner that work
on 863 works at a cost of Rs. 2.35 crore in block Sogam
under Rural
Development sector is under progress including MG NREGA,
IAY, GADP, TSC,
GRGF schemes etc. The DDC also said till now 7000 job cards
have been issued
to rural labourers by the Rural Development department.
Seminar on Kalam-e-Sheikh-ul-Alam held
at Radio Kashmir, Sgr

Srinagar, February 09:* A seminar on the topic “the
theme of
Kalam-i-Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA)” was today held at Radio
Kashmir Auditorium
Srinagar organised by Markaz-i-Noor Sheikh-ul-Alam chair of
university of
Kashmir in collaboration with Radio Kashmir, Srinagar.
The Writers, Research Scholars and Intellectuals
attended the
seminar.
The seminar was presided over by Vice Chancellor,
Kashmir
University, Prof. Reyaz Punjabi, while Divisional
Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr.
Asgar Samoon was the chief guest. Director Radio Kashmir,
Mrs. Rukhsana
Jabeen and coordinator, Mr Aziz Hajini were also present on
the occasion.
Those who presented their papers on the theme of
seminar include
Prof. Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Prof. Rehman Rahi, Prof. Margoob
Banhali, Dr.
Ghulam Nabi Atash, Mr. Assad Ullah Afaqi, Dr. Ajaz Ahmad
Kakroo, Dr.
Ifthikhar Ahmad, Dr. Abdul Rehman War, besides other experts
and speakers.
Divisional Commissioner assured full cooperation to
the
Sheikh-ul-Alam chair for launching website on Sheikh-ul-Alam
(RA).
