Hon'ble Chief Minister reviews Muharam arrangements

Sanctions Rs 50 lakhs for ensuring facilities

              Hon'ble Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today released Rs. 50 lakhs to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar for ensuring various facilities to the people during the Muharram days in the valley.

            He was reviewing measures put in place for providing essential services like supply of electricity, drinking water, health care, rations, fuel, K.oil, LPG etc to the people during Muharam, at a high level meeting here this evening.

            Taking stock of the measures initiated by the divisional administration on this count, Omar Abdullah said that focused attended should be on ensuring all essential services to the people effectively.

            “Be prompt in the delivery of power and drinking water besides upgrading and improving the roads through which processions are carried out”, he told the administration directing for cleanliness and proper street lights in and around Imam Baras and other places associated with Muharam processions and Majalis.

            Mr. Omar Abdullah also directed for adequate medical facilities to the processionists and others during Muhram days. He impressed upon the divisional administration to be responsive to the public requirements on account of smooth conduct of Majalis and processions.

            Present on the occasion were Minister for CA&PD and Transport, Mr Qamar Ali Akhoon, Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry & IT, Mr Aga Syed Ruhullah, Minister of State for PHE, Tourism & Urban Development, Mr Nasir Aslam Wani.

            Others who participated in the meeting include Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, SM Sahai, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mehraj Ahmed Kakroo, Chief Engineers of EM&RE, R&B, PHE and Mechanical Engineering Departments, Additional Commissioner Kashmir Abdul Majid Wani, Director CA&PD Kashmir, AW Tak, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mohammed Amin Wani, Chief Conservator Forests, Jt. Director Fire & Emergency Services RT Dubey, DFO Srinagar, RTO Kashmir, Mohammed Anees, Dy Inspector General of Police Traffic, Kashmir, Manhas, General Manager J&K SRTC, Jt Commissioner SMC, Health Officer SMC,  SE R&B Srinagar/Budgam Mushtaq Ahmed, SE EM&RE Srinagar Muzaffar Ahmed and OSD with Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Aamir Ali.
