Shri Madhav Lal takes over charge as CS

               Mr. Madhav Lal took over the charge as Chief Secretary of the State this afternoon. Mr. Madhav Lal -an IAS officer of 1977 batch J&K Cadre has served the State in different capacities earlier in the State. Before his appointment as Chief Secretary of the State he was in the Union Government as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Eid-i-Milad from Feb 03 (29 Safar, 1432H), Arrangements reviewed at a high level meeting at Hazratbal
 
            Srinagar, January 31: Arrangements with regard to Eid-i-Milad-Un-Nabi (SAW) commencing from February 03, 2011 (29 Safar, 1432H) were reviewed at a high level meeting of officers held at Hazratbal here today. The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar presided. MLA, Hazratbal, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, IGP Kashmir, Mr. S. M. Sahai, Vice Chairman, Muslim Wakf Board, Prof. M. Y. Qadri, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Meraj Ahmad Kakroo, DIG Traffic, Chief Engineers and HODs of various departments were also present in the meeting.
            Imam Asari-e-Sharief, Hazratbal Molvi Bashir Ahmad Farooqi also attended the meeting.
            Addressing the officers on the occasion, the Minister urged them to ensure all possible facilities for the pilgrims during Urs days adding that transport facility should be made available particularly during Fajr and Esha prayer. He also stressed for ensuring uninterrupted power supply in and around Hazratbal besides street lighting from Lal Chowk to Hazratbal, Foreshore road and other routes leading to Asari-e-Sharief.            
            Vice Chairman, Muslim Wakf Board was requested to ensure all possible facilities for the pilgrims particularly during prayers and also asked for deploying volunteers for the facility of pilgrims during the Urs days. The officers were asked to ensure all the necessary arrangements also in Pinjoora Shopian, Khiram Dargah, Kabamarg, Jenab Sahib Soura, Shehri Kalashpora and Aham Sharief Bandipora and to ake essential commodities including rice, sugar and kerosene oil available at these places for the people.
            Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal thanked the administration for initiating measures and ensuring hassle free arrangements for the pilgrims.
            The VC, Muslim Wakf Board and officers assured that all the facilities would be ensured during the Urs days.
            Later, the Minister along with various officers also visited the Shrine of Naqashband Sahib (RA0 and Zainakadal and took stock of the damage caused to the fire victims there.
