Defaulters to be stenly dealth with-Div Com
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Abdul Majid Mir, IAS
has instructed Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution
Deptt and all Deputy Commissioners to intensify market
checking and take effective measures to curb overcharging
especially in view of the festive season of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Div Com issued instructions to all the DCs so that they
constitute special market checking squads for ensuring this.
He asked all the traders and shopkeepers not to charge more
than the printed retail price. He made an appeal to the
traders to offer special rebate to their customers on the
occasion of Eid and warned that if any complaint regarding
overcharging is received stren action will be taken. In case
of any complaint about overcharging the public may report the
matter to the nearest Police station or the Special market
checking squads. Complaints may also be lodged on phone
numbers: 0194-2455019, 2481276 or with Asst. Director,
Enforcement on his cell number 9419000107.
Adequate stocks of essential supplies are available
with the CAPD Deptt. and Government has also announced release
of addition 1kg sugar per ration card in view of Eid.
