Disaster Preparedness training concludes with Mock drill.

Mock drill was held on the conclusion of the two day disaster preparedness training programme at DC Office Srinagar today.

Earlier the participants were taught various techniques of Search & Rescue by Abdul Gaffar, Civil Defence trainer and fire fighting by Abdul Ahad Trainer from Fire Services.

The programme was attended by 40 youth from various areas of Srinagar . Todays programme was attended by RT Dubey, Joint Director Fire Services, Athar Qadri Joint Director with FC Revenue, Mukhtar-ul-Aziz, Addl Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar , Muneer-ul-Islam Asstt. Commissioner Central, Khursheed Ahmed Dy Director Fire Services, Marcos Famous Brazilian Football Coach.

The trainees learnt various techniques of tying knots including Bowline, running bowline, sheep shunk, clow hitch, timber hitch. The participants were also shown how video conferencing is done as part of the communications.

The programme was organised by Divisional Disaster Management Cell, in collaboration with Civil Defence Organisation, J&K State Red Cross Society, Fire & Emergency Services & District Administration Srinagar.

Later a mock drill was held where the participants were taught about various types of fires and their common causes, its prevention and various methods to extinguish the fire with the help of portable fire-extinguishers. The trainees were also taught in detail the precautions to be taken while handling fires due to LPG cylinders.
