Div Com Kashmir gives instructions for better traffic management at Pantha Chowk.
On this occasion, the traffic officials informed the Divisional Commissioner that vehicles plying from Srinagar to Jammu frequently create hurdles in smooth traffic. The Divisional Commissioner said that there is a proposal for constructing an overhead foot bridge at Panthachowk and very soon the proposal would be given the final shape. In order to streamline movement of traffic it was ordered to removal the bottle necks. Pantha chowk has been experiencing huge traffic rush in view of the fact that all vehicles from Jammu as well as Inter-district transport culminate at Panthachowk. The road between Sempora (Pampore) and Pantha chowk has many bottle necks which cause traffic jams. The commuters face great difficulties and as such it was decided that the road from Sempora to Panthachowk will be widened and the structures/ shops will be rehabilitated. A suggestion was made that overhead foot bridges be constructed so that the passengers can cross the road safely.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir instructed the concerned agencies to prepare a well thought out plan so that the traffic problem is resolved.
Div Com Kashmir was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Mehraj Ahmed Kakroo, Superintending Engineer R&B Santosh Kumar Pandit, Regional transport Officer, Kashmir Mohammed Anees, Supdt of Police Traffic Rural GM Wadu, SP Traffic City Maqsood ul Zamaan, Executive Engineer R&B, Secy.
