Div Com conducts trial run
of Train upto Sopore

Heads of Departments made a trial run of the Train from

public darbar was conducted at the railway station Sopore,
which
was
attended by Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Bashir Ahmed Bhat,
Chief Area manager Northern Railways, Upendra Singh, SSP
Railways Shoukat Ahmed Malik, Joint Director, CAPD Kashmir, MA
Wani, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sopore, Mohammed Ahsaan Mir,
Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Sopore, Superintending
Engineer, North Circle Electric Sopore, Executive Engineer
R&B Sopore, Executive Engineer PHE Civil Sopore, Executive
Engineer PHE Mechanical Sopore, Executive Engineer I&FC
Sopore, Tehsildar Sopore, Executive Officer MC Sopore and
senior officers of Police, Army and Railways.
Various
issues pertaining to drinking water, electricity, roads, and
Ration etc were raised by the Public. Div Com directed PHE
officials to ensure that Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR)
which has been installed at Watlab Sopore is commissioned by
the end of March, so that drinking water problems of the
inhabitants of Sopore town and peripheral areas is solved.
Supdt. Engineer, Electric brought it into the notice of
Div. Com that the essential service line, which was provided
to the residents of Amargarh has been discontinued because of
metering system and will be restored once the area gets
metered. Executive Engineer, R&B informed the details of
roads which are under execution in the area and are likely to
be taken up. Joint Director, CAPD informed that new ration
cards would be provided as per new census report and assured
that from the current month the consumers shall get 35 Kgs of
rice in the APL category and 40 Kgs of rice in the BPL and AAY
category.
A
meeting of railway authorities was also taken by the
Divisional Commissioner wherein the pace of repair work of
construction and signal system was reviewed. They were
directed to complete the work on war-footing basis and get the
signal system completed as soon as possible because rail is
the cheapest means of transport mostly used by the poor
people. An assurance was taken from the public that they will
safeguard the railway property.
A
deputation of land losers met Div. Com and requested that the
farmers whose 50% of total land holding has been acquired by
the railway should also be considered for employment in the
railway department. Deputy Commissioner Baramulla was asked to
work out the details of the case.
Later,
Divisional Commissioner visited the Hospital at Ningli Sopore
which is under possession of security forces and gave directions on spot for its vacation, which is otherwise against the Government Policy.
