DDC reviews pace and progress of Irrigation.PHE sector in Budgam
Budgam, April 16: Work on 14 Irrigation schemes was taken up at
an estimated expenditure of Rs 5.80 Cr during the previous
financial year in District Budgam. The execution work on these
projects was equally sponsored under state sector share Rs
1.30 Lacs. AIBP 339.59 Lacs and NABARD 109.68 Lacs. Almost
100% expenditure was recorded by the end of last fiscal, 5
schemes, Nilnag, Freswar, Gurwat, Dharmana, Kachwari,
Doodpathri out of 14 were completed and are presently
providing Irrigation facilities to vast agriculture land
falling under these areas.
This was told in a meeting today organized to review the pace
and progress of the works/schemes started/ completed during
2010-11 under Irrigation and PHE sector. The meeting was
presided over by District Development Commissioner Budgam Mr.
Mohd Rafi.
The District Development Commissioner was told that besides
irrigation 12 water supply scheme were under PHE sector
started in different areas of the district for which funds to
the of Rs 5.20 Cr were incurred by the end of the year, thus
achieving a target of 96% expenditure. 3 uot of 12 schemes
Arixal Zenpora, Chadoora and Surasyar were completed and
thrown open for the public. By the completion of these schemes
about 25616 habitants from 20 adjacent villages got benefitted
and were provided safe drinking water.
The District Development Commissioner stressed and urged upon
the concerned departments to accelerate the process of
completion of the remaining undergoing projects and schemes.
