Govt. sanctions Rs 5 Lakh to each deceased of Malroo incident
Srinagar, February 14:
On
the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdulla, the
adviser to Chief Minister Mr. Mubarak Gul and MLA Batamaloo
Constituency Mr. Irfan Shah soon after reaching airport rushed
straight way to Malroo, to convey condolences and deep
sympathies with the bereaved family whose three children got
killed in an explosion yesterday evening.
Mr. Gul on this occasion said that Rs 5 Lakhs to each deceased would be paid as relief besides an employment to one of the bereaved family so that they could continue their livelihood. He said Deputy Commissioner Srinagar has been asked to identify a plot for the bereaved family so that they are rehabilitated in a proper manner for which Govt. will provide all possible assistance. He also appealed the local people to extend their support to the family.
Mr. Gul and Mr. Irfan Shah offered Fateh at graveyard
where these three children have been laid to rest. A large
number of people were also present on the occasion.
Later, the advisor and MLA went to hospital to inquire about the medicare facilities made available for the injured. They also prayed for the early recovery of the injured persons. Mr Gul said that if required the Govt. will bear all the expenses for their treatment outside the state also.
Srinagar, February 14: An amount Rs 442.26
Crore have been spent for the construction 266 road projects
out of 736 under PMGSY during the current financial year
in Kashmir and ladakh regions out of total Rs 1504.76 Cr.
This was stated in a review meeting of PMGSY held here today
under the chairmanship of Divisional commissioner Kashmir Dr
Asgar Samoon.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer, PMGSY,
Additional Commissioner Kashmir Mr Abdul Majeed Mir,
Conservator of Forests Srinagar and other officers.
In the meeting it was stated that 402 villages were covered
under the scheme for which 353.28 Cr were spent so far besides
Rs 89 Cr were utilized for up gradation of 9 road projects in
the valley.
On this occasion the Divisional Commissioner stressed up on
the concerned agencies to get clearance from the forest
department for the Roads which will be constructed through
forest areas.
Later the Divisional Commissioner convened a meeting of
officers in which it was decided that 41 compensation cases
of demolished structures have been referred to the
Government for clearance which were constructed illegally on
state land at Narbal and Tangmarg Road .The meeting was
attended by Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Deputy
Commissioner Baramulla and other officers.
Arrangements reviewed at Bandipora
Bandipora, February 14: To review overall situation arisen due to the continuous snow and rain fall, the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Lone today convened a meeting of the officers of concerned agencies and took stock of various steps taken to keep the essential services operational in the District.
Keeping in view the prediction of more snowfall and rains in the valley, the Deputy Commissioner directed to keep the official men and machinery ready to meet any eventuality in the District.
The meeting was told that the stock and supply position of Food grains, LPG and Kerosene Oil is presently satisfied in the District.
Deputy Commissioner has asked the people of the District to contact with control rooms functioning at Bandipora, Sumbol and Dawas Gurez in case of emergency.

Rs 30 Lakh ex-gratia sanctioned in Kup
Kupwara, February 14: The district level screening cum-consultative committee meeting held today under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Kupwara Mr. M. S. Rather.
The committee released Rs 30 Lakh in favour of 12 death cases and 18 missing persons to be distributed among the next kins where relatives were killed and missed during the last 5 year militancy related incidents.
These cases were taken up in the district level screening consultative committee meeting.
Cheques worth Rs 17 Lakh distributed at Kup.
Kupwara, February 14: The Director Rehabilitation Kashmir Mr. Irshad Ahmad today distributed Rs 17 Lakh as financial assistance under National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFFCH) among 168 children of Tehsil Handwara whose parents were killed during the militancy related incidents.
On this occasion, the Director Rehabilitation, Kashmir said that the ex-gratia has been provided to them on the instructions of Govt. as the Govt is trying its best to accommodate these militancy victims so that they would be able to stand on their own legs and will be able to continue their day to day livelihood.

35 land acquisition case cleared in Bla
Baramulla, February 14: As many as 35 land acquisition cases out of 41 taken up under PMGSY for implementation of various road projects in Baramulla district, have been disposed off and Rs 6 crore stands disbursed as compensation among land owners.
This was stated during a meeting of PMGSY engineers, Collectors and other officers at Baramulla today with District Development Commissioner Baramulla Mr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat in chair.
It was given out that the land owners of 85 villages coming under these schemes are being provided compensation and for this purpose over Rs 11 crore stands received by the revenue department so far.
The DDC on this occasion stressed for early disposal of land cases so that road projects are taken up well in time.
