Srinagar, November 03: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir,
Dr.
Asgar Hussain Samoon has designated Mr. Abdul Majeed Wani,
Additional
Commissioner, Kashmir as Public Information Officer (PIO) under
the Right to
Information Act in the office of Divisional Commissioner,
Kashmir. He will
be assisted by Mr. Abdul Khaliq Najar, Reader to Divisional
Commissioner,
Kashmir as Assistant Public Information Officer (APOI).
Control Room for
winter management to be headed by ADDC
Srinagar, November 03: According to the Deputy Commissioner,
Srinagar, a control room shall be established in his office to
address the
issues pertaining to winter management with special reference to
snow
clearance, stability of market prices, availability of essential
commodities
and other public grievances. Additional District Development
Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr.
Sarmad Hafeez shall be the Nodal Officer for the said control
room and can

pace of work of various NURM schemes meant for Greater
Srinagar
Srinagar, November 03: To assess the pace of work on various
sewerage and water supply schemes under National Urban Renewal
Mission
(NURM) meant for Greater Srinagar, the Divisional Commissioner,
Dr. Asgar
Samoon today convened a high level meeting of officers connected
with this
centrally sponsored scheme.
Regarding sewerage schemes for Greater Srinagar, the meeting was
informed by National Building Construction Corporation
representatives that
37 percent work on 60 MLD STP Wanganpora has been completed for
which the
sanctioned cost is Rs. 3092 lakh. In addition, 52 percent work
of over 37043
metres long trunk sewer line has also been completed while work
on 8636.35
mts is going apace.
Regarding water supply schemes, the part of NURM, it was told
that an amount of Rs. 9.11 crore have so far been incurred on
the 10 MGD WSS
Sukhnag in Budgam district, when completed, the scheme will
provide drinking
water facility to three lakh souls of district Budgam including
some areas
in Srinagar. Similarly, work on WSS Tangnar is also in progress
and an
amount of Rs. 42 crore have so far been spent.
Emphasizing the need for maintaining close coordination between
various concerned departments which would help in completing
these
prestigious projects within the scheduled time.
He also directed the SMC officers to reactivate the
anti-polythene campaign as the people have started its
utilisation on a
large scale again. These have choked drainage system and other
big and small
water bodies.
Div Com visits Dal
Lake, Nageen and inspects Rs. 402 crore under
construction Rakh-i-Arath Housing Colony
Srinagar, November 03: The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir,
Dr. Asgar Samoan took stock of various on-going developments
works like
Rath-i-Arath Colony, Brari Nambal Sewerage Treatment Plant and
Brain,
besides, he also visited and Mohalla, Moti Mohalla, Takia Shah
Mohalla,
Pokhribal etc in Dal Lake and interacted with the people living
there
regarding the problems being faced by them.
Mr. Samoon was informed that Rakh-i-Arath colony is coming at a
cost of Rs. 402 crore on 7625 kanals of land. He was informed
that in its
phase, 4600 plots are being constructed and presently 500 plots
are ready.
However, the work on sewerage, drainage, water supply,
transmission lines
and construction of roads is going on war footing basis.
The Divisional Commissioner told that earth filling work on 400
kanals of land has already been completed while the filling work
of 250
kanls from Durable side has been also been completed. He was
informed that
the filling work of 1000 plots is under progress.
Mr. Samoan was told that so far Rs. 23 crore have been
spent on
the project and Rs.1080 crore on land compensation while
Rs.12.85 crore on
other developmental works has been expended. He was informed
that 12 parks,
122 shopping complexes, 6 Primary schools, 7 community halls, 11
Masjids,
Middle and High Schools, besides stadia and Imam Baras would be
constructed
here.
On this occasion, the Divisional Commissioner also interacted
with Dal dwellers.
The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied be the Deputy
Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. M. A. Kakroo, Deputy Commissioner,
Budgam, Mr.
Mohd Rafi and Vice Chairman LAWDA, Mr. Irfan Yasseen.
Later, Mr. Samoon also inspected Rs. 21 crore under construction
16 MLD Brari Nambal Sewerage Treatment Plant.
